Beachwear has developed over the years - if you're not happy feeling over-exposed on the beach, then you still have the choice of some truly gorgeous beach outfits.

No matter your size, shape or confidence: you can now dress up your swimwear with beautiful dresses and kaftans.

One item you should get sorted before anything else is your base swimwear. This really isnt something to forget! There are many gorgeous pieces you can purchase, from bikinis to sophisticated swimsuits. Recent styles include halterneck swimsuits, and even burkinis - an all-over body covering designed for fun at the seaside.

A bold red ruched swimsuit will be a lovely feminine look which will cover you up in the places you may feel uncomfortable showing. If you are looking to hold certain places in, then you may want to go for a black, shape-enhancing bandeau swimsuit.

If you are planning on having a more adventurous day out to the beach, and are going to be walking, then you may want to combine a pair of cargo pocket blue shorts with a lightweight white top and some strapped sandals.

Sometimes, we just need something to throw on to pop down to the pool or beach. If this is the case you may want to pack a loose-fitting casual playsuit or a lightweight black dress.

Having comfortable sandals can be a major bonus, they have to be versatile to go with many outfits, and be comfortable so you don't end up blistered. A practical and lovely sandal you may want to go for this spring/summer is a flower toe sandal, these come in brown leather, a neutral colour, and so will be great for many of your daytime outfits.

You dont only have to wear beach clothes in the day, either. If you dress your outfits up, you can make a lovely evening outfit which may be suitable for a beach party. A coral beaded maxi dress or a jumpsuit can both be great evening outfits to take you straight from the beach to the barbecue.
