Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2010 Terms & Conditions

1. Entry forms to the Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2010 can be downloaded from www.nectar-business.com/sba2010. Only these entry forms will be accepted as a method of application but can be supported by additional materials. Applications must be received between 1st March 2010 and 31st May 2010. Applications will not be accepted either before or after these dates.
2. Each organisation/individual can enter one or more award categories, subject to meeting the criteria, however, a separate entry form must be submitted for each award category entered.
3. The awards are open to all companies incorporated with in the UK, other than the Entrepreneur of the Year Award which is open to all UK residents, subject to meeting the criteria laid out below for each category:
   
   • Small Business of the Year
   • Be a small business that employs no more than 50 people
   • Be a small business more than two years old
   • Have an annual turnover no greater than £9 million
   • Entrepreneur of the Year
   • Be an individual or individuals who have assumed the risk, organised and managed their own business
   • Be an individual or individuals who run a business of one to no more than 250 employees
   • Be able to demonstrate net profit figures for the last business year
   • Contribution to the Community Award
   • Be a small business (as per the criteria for Small Business of the Year) or a UK social enterprise which is defined as:
     - a business that trades for social or environmental purposes
     - a business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community
   • Be a business whose product or service is sold/supplied with the aim of making a positive contribution to the community it serves
   • Be able to show evidence of how the business or enterprise serves the community
   • Online Business of the Year
   • Be able to demonstrate how innovative use of the internet has boosted sales/grown the business
   • Be able to demonstrate that the percentage of sales figures achieved via the companys website is 70% or more
   • Be able to submit figures to demonstrate the number of unique users per month
4. Participants for all four awards will be expected to demonstrate tangible success, and profits must be demonstrated in a quantifiable form. Actual evidence of success may be requested by the judges and will be treated with confidentiality.
5. The copyright to all material assembled by the Promoter of the awards will remain with the Promoter and may be used for the purpose of publicising the awards within the national, regional and trade press where appropriate.
6. By entering this competition, all entrants agree for their entries to be publicised within the national, regional and trade press where appropriate.
7. Winners will be required to be photographed at their business premises when they will receive their trophy and prize.
8. The judging panels decision is final. The judges reserve the right to withdraw or transfer any of the awards at their absolute discretion.
9. The prize is non-negotiable and non-refundable. The winner of each of the award categories will receive £2,000 in cash, a £2,000 credit on their Viking Direct account and 50,000 Nectar points. Winners must have an active Nectar/Nectar Business account registered to the winner in order to receive the Nectar points and must have an active Viking Direct account registered to the winner in order to receive the Viking Direct credit.
10. The winners will be decided by 20 August 2010 and will receive their awards within 28 days of the judges decision. Once the winners have been decided, they will be informed immediately and their prizes will be dispatched within 28 days of notification.

The data that the Promoter holds will be held in accordance with the Nectar Privacy Policy. The Promoter will keep your data securely to prevent unauthorised access by third parties. The information you provide will be used by the Nectar Business Small Business Awards judging panel to verify your entry against the entry criteria for the relevant award category.
