How many points will I get for applying?

1,000 Nectar points are payable once your child's account is open. This happens after the end of the cancellation period. You must provide Family Investments with your Nectar card number before the Child Trust Fund (CTF) account opens to receive your bonus points. NB. Bonus points will not be payable if you cancel your CTF within the cancellation period.

What is a 'cancellation period'?

This is a period (after you have completed the application process) during which you get a further chance to change your mind about the CTF you have applied for. You don't need to do anything if you are still happy with your original investment decision.

Do I get extra if I set up a direct debit when I apply?

Yes, an extra 1,000 Nectar points are payable if you set up a monthly direct debit of £10 or more when you apply.

How do I ensure I get my bonus points?

Make sure you provide your Nectar card number in the space provided on the application form, or give it to your Family Investments Customer Services Representative when you apply.

What happens if I don't have my Nectar card to hand?

You have two choices.

  1. If you haven't yet sent in your CTF voucher to Family Investments then you can write your Nectar card number on the reverse of the voucher when you send it - being sure to clearly label this as 'Nectar Card Number'.
  2. Alternatively phone Family Investments with your card number on 0800 876 6754*.
    IMPORTANT: We will be unable to credit your bonus points if you do not provide Family Investments with your Nectar card number before the CTF account opens.

Can I use anyone's Nectar card?

Yes, if you don't mind somebody else receiving the bonus points then you can use any Nectar card number when you apply.

What if I don't have a Nectar card?

You have two options:

  1. Apply for a card via the Nectar website before starting your CTF application process, or;
  2. You can call 0800 876 6754* where your Customer Services Representative will be able to allocate a temporary Nectar number at the same time as processing your CTF application. A Nectar card application pack will be sent to you in the post.

My Nectar card has a lot of numbers on it, which ones should I provide?

You should only provide the last eleven digits – see sample card below.

How long will it take to credit my bonus Nectar points?

It can take anything up to 28 days from the opening of your account to credit the points.

Where can I spend my points?

You can spend your points with any Nectar partner in the usual way; alternatively you can transfer the points back into your child's CTF. For more information phone 0844 811 0811* or visit this site (www.nectar.com/childtrustfund) again once your points have been credited and follow the 'How to top-up' link.

How do I find out more about bonus Nectar points or about the application process?

You can phone 0800 876 6754* to talk to a Family Investments Customer Services Representative who can answer your questions and walk you through the application process.

Manage your child's Nectar CTF account online.

Once you've opened your child's Nectar CTF account, you'll be able to register for Online Wizard to simply and securely manage your child's CTF account online. It will put all the information you need at your fingertips, from the account's current balance to projections of what it might be worth when your child turns 18 - you'll be able to:

  • Check the current value of your child's account
  • View an up-to-date statement summary
  • See what the final value of your child's account may be at age 18
  • See how much you can still top-up this year
  • Set up and manage your direct debit top ups online
  • Personalise your secure account management page with a picture of your little one.
