* Saving information provided by the Energy Saving Trust. Savings are approximate figures derived from an average of savings made by 4m2 flat plate and 4m2 evacuated tube Solar Thermal installations, using hot water heated by the installation in place of water heated by gas, and based on the average water heating requirements of a gas heated three bedroom semi-detached house with three occupants. Actual savings may vary.
** Based on generation figures provided by the Energy Saving Trust, using a standard 2.08kWp installation generating 1768kWh per year and a typical average household energy consumption of 3,300kWh per year. Actual outputs may vary.
^ Subject to entering into a power purchase agreement with EDF Energy.
To qualify for a Power Purchase Agreement you must meet the following criteria:
- You are an EDF Energy electricity supply customer
- You have an Ofgem approved generation or export meter installed at your property unless you take our unmetered buy back option. Both generation and export meters are currently included within EDF Energy's standard Solar PV installation package.
- You have grid connection approval from your local Distribution Network Operator - we can arrange this for you when we install your PV system
EDF Energy can offer three 'buy back' energy options to suit a range of PV systems:
- Generation Metered - if you're a residential customer with an appropriate Ofgem accredited generation meter we'll pay you every unit of electricity generated through your PV system. The price we pay customers for their electricity varies according to the type of technology and the size of the installation.
- Un-metered - we'll pay you £10 per KW of installed load a year, please call our Green Energy Team on 0800 404 9087† for further information.
- Export Metered - If you have an Ofgem accredited 'export' meter we can purchase just the energy that goes into the 'grid' from your home
