Madonna secures chart double
Controversial star Madonna has shown she's still got what it takes to be successful in the world of pop.
The singer's new studio collection, Hard Candy, has flown straight to the top of the UK album chart, while her current release, 4 Minutes, enjoys a third week at the top of the singles chart.
Hard Candy is the tenth album by Madonna to top the UK charts, repeating the success of her last studio collection, Confessions on a Dancefloor.
In the singles chart, Australian band Pendulum were the only new entry in the top ten climbing from 16 to nine with Propane Nightmares.
Other big movers include The Script who leapt from 30 to 15 with We Cry and Jay Sean who jumped up 23 places to 19 with Maybe.
Challenging Madonna at the top of the singles chart are Sam Sparro at number two with Black and Gold, Wiley at number three with Wearing My Rolex and Usher's Love In This club at number four.
