• Heart-shaped popcorn kernel up for grabs on eBay

  

  An American mother-daughter duo are currently selling a heart-shaped popcorn kernel on eBay in an effort to raise funds for tornado victims in Suffolk.

  According to the Virginian-Pilot newspaper, the tiny kernel, which has been nicknamed "the popcorn kernel of love", is listed on the auction website with a photo and a caption reading: "My heart POPS for you, but let's not get corny".

  The kernel was discovered by Amy Keller's 13-year-old daughter at the bottom of a popped bag of microwave popcorn.

  It is thought that funds raised through the eBay sale will be used to help the daughter purchase a special bed, as she has had trouble sleeping. Excess funds will be donated to victims of last week's tornado.

  Earlier this year, a cornflake shaped like the state of Illinois was sold on eBay and is now part of a travelling Americana exhibition.
