Terms and Conditions

1. Collect 2 points for every £1 spent on London North Eastern Railway (LNER) tickets bought online through www.lner.co.uk (desktop website & mobile website) or via the ticket vending machines at LNER stations.

2. Season Ticket holders can also collect 2 Nectar points for every £1 when purchasing season tickets providing the ticket meets the following qualifying criteria:
a)  The Season Ticket is purchased at www.lner.co.uk, or an LNER Ticket Vending Machine (weekly Season Tickets only)
b)    The Season Ticket is a weekly, monthly or annual ticket.
c)     The journey covered by the season ticket is made between qualifying starting and destination stations and is ‘Route: Any Permitted’ (click here for details of which routes qualify)
d)    The Season Ticket is a full price adult ticket (excludes Child and Privilege tickets)

4. All journeys where a customer travels on an LNER train (whether for the whole journey or just part of it) are eligible for Nectar points. E.g. if a customer books a journey from Scarborough to Brighton (which would connect onto an LNER service between York and London Kings Cross) they would receive Nectar points for the entirety of the booking.

5. In order to collect Nectar points for eligible bookings, you must link your Nectar card to your www.lner.co.uk account.

6. To link your Nectar card you must enter the last 11 digits of your Nectar card number when prompted during the booking process or alternatively click on ‘My Account’ and then ‘My loyalty cards’ at www.lner.co.uk. Once you have linked your Nectar card the LNER website will remember your details for future transactions.

7. If you are unable to input your Nectar card number on www.lner.co.uk when making your initial transaction which is eligible for Nectar points, you will have 24 hours to return to the site to link your Nectar card to your LNER account to successfully collect the points you accrued on that transaction.

8. Points cannot be collected on any element of a transaction which is paid for by redeeming a National Rail Travel voucher.

9. Incorrect or invalid Nectar cards or Nectar card numbers will not be awarded points. Customers are responsible for ensuring the number entered is correct.

10. Points will appear on your account within 28 days of buying your tickets.

11. In the case of a refund the awarded Nectar points will be deducted from your Nectar account within 28 days of the refund. Where a change is made to your booking, the points collected will be increased or reduced based on the final transaction amount.

12. LNER reserves the right to: (a) withdraw at any time any Nectar points that were granted in the case of any fraudulent activity or in error; (b) withhold or delay issuing Nectar points; or (c) change these terms at any time.

Spend your points on LNER Advance tickets

Choose either a £2.50, £5.00, £10.00, £20.00 or £50.00 voucher. Spend your points on a voucher to enjoy money off LNER Advance tickets. Terms and Conditions

Each eVoucher is valid to use at the LNER website www.lner.co.uk for 12 months from date of redemption, the expiry date will be listed on your confirmation email.

Once claimed on the LNER website, your eVoucher will be stored in your LNER account until you choose to spend it.

Multiple eVouchers can be applied to each purchase of LNER Advance tickets on the LNER website for travel on a LNER service.

Any remaining credit you have left after spending part of your eVoucher will be stored in your LNER account until its expiry date.
 

  1. Your chosen LNER eVoucher will entitle you to the cash amount of LNER credit which can be used as either full or part payment on an LNER Advance ticket (travelling on a LNER service) transactions only made on the LNER website, click here to visit the website.
  2. eVouchers cannot be used to purchase any tickets or products other than LNER Advance tickets (travelling on an LNER service) on the LNER website, click here to visit the website. The eVoucher can only be used against bookings made on the desktop version of the LNER online booking engine (currently not the mobile retail site).
  3. LNER eVouchers are not valid on promotional discounted products.
  4. Multiple eVouchers can be applied to one transaction on the LNER website, click here to visit the website.
  5. eVouchers have no cash value. Unused, lost, expired and redeemed vouchers cannot be refunded, exchanged or returned. This does not affect your statutory rights.
  6. Your eVoucher will be displayed on screen after you have redeemed your points at nectar.com and can be used immediately at on the LNER website, click here to visit the website (subject to these terms and conditions).
  7. A confirmation email will also be sent to the email address assigned to your Nectar Account within 24 hours. If you do not receive your confirmation email, call the Nectar helpline on 0344 811 0811.
  8. In order to spend the voucher you must log in to your account or create a new account on the LNER website www.lner.co.uk and add your Nectar card number through the ‘My Account’ page to claim your eVoucher. If you do not already have a www.lner.co.uk account you can create one in advance, or at the time of making a booking. If you had an account with the previous operator, Virgin Trains East Coast, your account is automatically transferred to the new operator LNER.
  9. You can store your eVoucher in your LNER account by signing into the ‘My Account’ page of the LNER website www.lner.co.uk, clicking on the ‘eVoucher’ section of the ‘My Account’ page, and then entering your eVoucher code into the relevant field. The eVoucher will then be stored in your account for when you are ready to use it.
  10. We recommend storing your eVoucher details to your LNER account as soon as you have received the eVoucher code as you will not be able to view your eVoucher code from your Nectar account.
  11. We recommend copying and pasting the eVoucher code directly into eVoucher box on the LNER website.
  12. It is important to check the difference between the capital letter ‘O’ (for orange) and the number ‘0’ (zero) and the capital letter ‘I’ (for igloo) and the number ‘1’ (one). These can be easily mixed up and this is why we recommend copying and pasting.
  13. The eVoucher codes are case sensitive. Capital letters must be used.
  14. You can also use your eVoucher code directly on the payment pages on the LNER website www.lner.co.uk provided you are logged in when selecting your LNER ticket (for travel on a LNER service).
  15. Each eVoucher is valid to use on the on the LNER website www.lner.co.uk for a minimum of 12 months from the date it is redeemed at nectar.com. We encourage you to make a note of the expiry date when you receive your eVoucher code. Any expired eVouchers will be removed from your account automatically upon expiry. If you do not spend the entire value of your eVoucher in one transaction, the remaining value will be stored in your LNER account until you wish to use on your next booking, or the expiry date, which ever date is soonest.
  16. You will be eligible to collect Nectar points on the full value of any element of any LNER Advance ticket transaction which has been part or fully paid for by redeeming points in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  17. All standard LNER terms and conditions apply.
  18. By exchanging your Nectar points for an eVoucher, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  19. eVouchers remain the property of Nectar Loyalty Ltd of 80 Strand, London, WC2R 0NN.
  20. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
